For me it started and continues to be a strong desire to see America and all its historic places. I'm also able to take our grandson with us and show him his country so he's a smarter, more complete person as he grows up. I'm making sure he's getting to do what I wish I had been able to do while growing up. Most importantly it gives DW a chance to relax from the daily pressure of having to take care of me while we're at home. :B
