What memories are made of…
… or something like that :B
So it’s the end of our 4 day weekend yesterday and I’m dumping the tanks. I’ve got the slinky all propped up on the supports as usual and I pull the black tank handle. My 14 yr old son is standing there watching while I show him how to do it. Everything is going fine but the hose support falls over near the RV end. I still have 2 more tanks to go, so I figure no big deal, but I’ll go ahead and crawl under the slide and prop it back up anyhow. It’s close to the sewer connection so I only have 10ft of hose out, only needing about 6ft. So I crawl under there on my knees and start putting the hose back on the support while it’s draining, when somehow I must have moved the whole hose and out of the corner of my eye I see the other end come out of the sewer drain:E At this point I’m yelling to my son – “close the valve, close the valve, quick!”. Now I’m moving like Spiderman under the slide, scrambling to avoid the “spillage” and at the same time trying to avoid fire ants which had gotten me earlier when I hooked up. My son, being concerned about my well being (NOT!) is laughing too hard to do anything about the valve. Fortunately, the tank was almost empty and by the time I got out from under and on my feet I only ended up with about a gallon or 2 of “liquid” on the ground and none on me. My son, after belly laughing for another 2 full minutes, looks at me and says “man dad, I never saw you move that fast. You were like a cat running from lightning”. So we have a good laugh together and finish the tanks and clean up. 5 minutes later my wife and daughter come out and say “what smells?”. And the laughing starts again:) Sometimes it’s tough to be dad (as I’m sure many of you can relate, or mom for that matter), good thing I can still laugh at myself. I’m just glad I caught my son offguard or I would probably be a star on youtube by now... Hope ya'll found something to laugh at this weekend too!
