What I learned here was to go watch some RVs being made, before buying any of them. It helped me to have more realistic expectations about what I am buying, and to know what to look for when shopping.
I think it is the second most important advice I pass on.
The most important is, when shopping, go through the motions of living in the thing, don't just walk around and look at it. My wife taught me that, I didn't learn it here. You won't be keeping a RV very long if you can't take a shower on it, don't fit on the toilet, or bang your head every time you rise from the sofa, all major problems I've encountered with RVs I've tried out, and I'm just not that big that I should be having such problems.
