If there were plenty of straight passing areas why didn't the people behind the vehicles immediately behind you pass them one at a time? That's what I would have done. Surely they didn't think they had to pass the vehicles behind you and you all at the same time. Sounds like there was more than one BDC behind you. :)
If I were in a similar situation, which I wouldn't be because I wouldn't be doing 55. :) Me and Sammy Hagar. LOL Whether I would pull over or not would depend on whether there were pullouts, if there were pullouts I might pull into one. A lot would depend on the road and how I was feeling at the time. If I felt there was plenty of room to pass and it was safe to do so, I might just keep rolling. I can't do the thinking for everyone all the time.
