Unless it is a medical type related injury/ emergency response why is it more important for Jim Bob (or whatever you want to name the fictitious person) to get to work, home, or the party store than it is for me to arrive at my destination?
Yes, the rare instance it is an emergency related situation, and I am all for trying to help that person out, but I have yet to have someone explain why it is more important (and legal) for the log hauler, electrician, plumber, cable/ satellite guy, municipal worker, or the who ever it may be to speed and need to get past me just because I may be towing a trailer and driving the speed limit/ give or take a couple mph as long as the driving conditions allow? As mentioned, there are speed limits for a reason. What about when not towing, does that make a difference at all, with the same situation?
This isn't any different than when there is 6" of snow on the ground and just because I have 4wd and can safely navigate at a faster speed to expect Mr Honda Accord to get out of my way because I have someplace to be. No, I just sit back and let them set the pace, maintaining a safe distance behind. If and when it is safe to do so, I will then pass in a safe manner.
