This post started because WA has a law on it's books about delaying more than 5 vehicles. I don't know if other states have similar laws. I have only seen this enforced on 2 lane highways, particularly on Hwy. 101 on the peninsula. I also seem to remember seeing them on Hwy 2 going over Steven's Pass. There are signs every so often that state "Delay of 5 or more vehicles is prohibited by law. Use pullouts". You can argue it in court after getting a ticket but the law is the law. I sincerely doubt this law is enforced on roads with speed limits under 45. If memory serves, this law goes back to the 1970's.
