Hunting Island SP in SC is really hard to get a site in. We had about given up on getting a beach loop site. One day, I got an email that there was a cancelation and it was on our FIRST choice site in the park. We changed our plans around and the next week took off work and found ourselves right on the ocean for 7 nights.
We had an amazing stay. We've been in grander and more exotic spots, but usually as part of road trips when we are there to see everything and not necessarily relax. This week in Hunting Island was for no purpose other than laying in a hammock, cooking seafood and swimming in the ocean. Got to be true beach bums!
