I have had a life time of favorite camping trips. Some that started out miserably and turned out nicely. One trip sticks in my mind, we had got a late start and finally made it into the CG about dusk. My new family and I had camped out several weeks before and had gotten use to each other in our TT. I decided to walk the CG with my stepson and located a spot that would take our TT and TV. I left my stepson there with a feeble flash light to hold the site for us.
I walked back to the TT and told my family I had found a spot that was large enough to take us. My wife said where is G**g, my response "I left him with the flash light to hold the spot". She said "He's afraid of the dark". I started to say "Not anymore" and thought that might not be appropriate.
Did I forget to mention that it was raining, complete with a owl that was hooting in a nearby tree. G**g was really glad to see us.
We discussed that trip for many years, all in all a nice weekend. We decided after that, any weekend together as a family was much better than being at home.
