- myredracerExplorer IIWhat about the one thing you never use?
Few years ago, the DW decided I could do with a shovel to take with us on camping trips. So I got this as an Xmas or birthday gift. A collapsing shovel for emergency use including a lovely carrying case... Human hand shown for scale reference. Pretty much useless and I forgot all about it until I was tidying up the TT the other day for the first trip out this season and found it in the underbed storage.
On the positive side, it is well made. :) - fj12ryderExplorer III

Most references to "camping" also include "RV'ing".
I am kinda rethinking this site as the question was about "camping" We used to "camp" using a tent or with a slight stretch an Apache pop up (for a few years, then used it for hunting until we bought our first trailer). Now for many years we have had a trailer started small 28' then worked up to a 38=2 40'TT. We do use this for 5 to 6 months a year to "live" in but really not camp in the wilderness as in the past. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO our world of camping may be different than yours as ours has no rules like dry camping or rustic would. We use more stuff because we are bigger and we can.
And the actual question was "What's the one thing that you have but hardly EVER use?". That covers many areas.
I don't "camp", I "RV". To me "camping" consists of sleeping in a tent. Anything else is RV'ing, whether you're in a pop-up, truck camper, or a 40' motorhome, they're all RV's (Recreational Vehicle). Just depends on how you feel about it. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIII have used it once along side the road. Used several times for maintenance.

- CrabbypattyExplorerOur Road trip gas grill with griddle attachments. DW doesnt like it....I do but she brings out a list of complaints everytime, so its not worth it listening to it.
- VeebyesExplorer II"Dumping scraps outside the camper". That is one thing the DW misses from our boating days. If it was biodegradable over the side it went. Cut down on trash accumulation, no dumpsters on the water, & encouraged fish to come around. More than a few times one of those fish became a meal.

After about 2000 nights of use, I have yet to see if the TV works. Never used the outdoor shower.

The outside shower is GREAT for cleaning dogs and doing dishes, no food scraps stinking up the gray water tank.
Don't have any dogs or animals to clean outdoors. I like being able to stay inside to clean dishes and cannot imagine dumping the food scraps on the ground around my camper. I have a stainer in the sink so I can dump the scraps in the garbage.
Dumping scraps outside the camper, where we camp.....may invite some guests weighing-in at 400 pounds and up! :B - JimK-NYExplorer II
