I was in the Gulf Pines KOA, east of Pensacola, FL on I-10 when the sky started getting dark. The couple that owned the place went to every RV in their park, told us about the weather report of potential tornado activity and told us that both restrooms were built to hurricane standards and attached to the recreation room. They invited all of us to the recreation room, turned on the TV news and weather radio, and unlocked the Coke and snack machines.
The tornado missed us, but when I left the next day, there were a lot of trees along I-10 uprooted. That's the closest I've been, or want to be.
