Never, Never before PDI!
We bought our current 5er from CW, purchase handled through CW in Woodvillage, OR, the unit was at the Burlington, WA. locations 250 miles or so north. Selling location wanted us to sign before seeing the unit, we said no way you have a deposit, we will be there on Saturday to an inspection and PDI.
Once at the selling site we did find a few small items that would need fixing, and got the price reduced another $500. Completed the PDI and had a great tow home
If you need to make a payment on your current rig before the PDI, MAKE THE PAYMENT, and have the lender send the dealer the new pay off amount, not that hard to change the paper work.
Never, Never, never sign before complete PDI, and a written agreement as to repair or discount for issues found.
