When you need water and a waste dump . . .

Perhaps it is just that my favorite spot is not near a convenient place to get water or dump my tanks, I wonder what process you use to find a dump station while on the go.

Do you just look online? Do you plan your trips around knowing where the next dump station is?

I'd like to start using my trailer where I stay 3 nights, move, dump, stay 3 more nights, move, dump, etc. Do you tend to "wing it" or know what facilities are on your route?

  • x2 for sanidumps. Also a lot of flying J or other types of truck stops have dumps, water and propane. Just about the best places ever invented for RVs.
  • I dump and fill at every opportunity. And we can be real stingy with fresh water while showering every day.
  • Black dump every 5 or 6 days. Grey every 4 or 5 days. Trips are not planned with dumps in mind. Most every CG has a dump. Seldom make CG reservations except busy weekends at high demand areas. Always carry enough water onboard for at least a couple of nights if we get caught & have to dry camp somewhere.
  • Truck stops, RV dealers, municipal water treatment plants, private campgrounds, all are places where you can dump, sometimes free.
  • I fill my fresh tank and dump black and gray at home. actually have to dump tanks tonight form this weekends adventure.
  • I sometimes stop at a regular RV Park to pick up water and to dump. Maybe cost me $10 maybe not.
