I just left a MI state CG on Fri. I was there since Mon. On Monday afternoon we went to the beach to find a large dog that looked to me like maybe an older Golden Retriever. The beach was packed the family with the dog sat on the very edge of the swiming area they consisted of what looked like young grand parents (early 50's) there daughter (mid to late 20's and 2 or 3 kids 8 to 10. Every time anyone got within 10 to 12 feet of the dog it barked & growled very aggressively.the people we camp with have 3 Rottweilers that are well behaved they had the youngest with them(6 month old pup).they wanted to take their Rott to the beach but didn't because of the many signs ( and the Rott reputation ) that clearly says NO DOGS ON BEACH ! the golden finally got a ticket from the park (Rangers maybe) on thursday after it snapped at guy who insisted on petting the dog. as soon as the rangers hit the beach the grandmother jumped up with the dog and was heading the other way to the other exit. she knew exactly why the rangers finally showed up on the beach for the first time that week. MI state parks are beautiful I love camping there, BUT the state is in such bad shape the parks are under staffed and what little staff they have is mostly teenagers. That CG(Port Crescent at the tip of the thumb) is quite a gem a nice sandy beach, sunsets into the water of Saginaw bay ,stars like you wouldn't believe,
