My two previous TT's and my current motorhome all have the fresh water tank inside sitting on the floor (under a bed in the TT's, under a dinette seat in the motorhome). No fear of tank drop.
I do worry a little about the black and gray which are held up by straps under the rig, so I dump them when leaving camp if I can.
I fill up at home out of pure convenience. Even if there is water available at camp, I don't want to take the time to fill up before parking and setting up camp upon arrival. I want to get straight to camping!
