I'll try one...
do I need to give a hint? Big river, guess from where this image was taken!
Another hint...one of the largest rivers in the eastern US. runs down a state border, the city where this image was taken is near 3 state borders (including it's own state of course).
I'll guess the Ohio River. Now, where along it is another question.
Yes, correct it is indeed the Ohio River...where...another hint...the best hint...is in the "another hint" paragraph above so get out your maps and think a bit more. One more note: Their college team is fairly well known.
This one is difficult as there are many iron bridges like this, especially across the Mississippi... With your clues I'm going to say it is the Rt. 527 bridge in Huntington, WV and you are standing in Harris Riverfront Park.
And - if I'm right I'm not sure this qualifies as a win since I figured it out from research not recognition. :)
Correct. It indeed is at Riverfront Park in Huntington,WV, a place we visit often because DHs brother lives there. This was taken 4th of July 2012 on a day when it was 102!
I think research instead of recognition is awesome too because we all learn something. For example...we've only been to one of the recently shown images so I had to do research to find out what state they were in and locate them on a map. The castle building on Alexandra Bay...have no clue where that is. I'd appreciate listing the entire location description but then again...I don't mind the research.
All good, wonderful images...keep them coming.
