2014 Lambing

Lambing started President's Day with a set of triplets. Good thing I finished building our permananet lambing pens (4) in an unused part of our large barn. The triplets are strong and were moved to one of the pens to make it easier for mom to keep up with them and so she doesn't have to fight with the 70 other ewes for food.

Lambing this year will be harder than others since the flock is confined to a small area in front of the barn and the barn stalls due to the remaining snow cover (with icy crust). The crowds make it harder for mom to keep up with the lambs.

This morning we had another set of triplets (moved to a pen) and a set of twins left out with the flock.

Now begins the real work for our dogs.
