We prefer that too.
There is excellent lamb grown in our area and throughout the Great Plains, so I personally don't buy imported lamb. Supporting local producers and all. :)
We buy local meat when we can. Good to hear the Great Plains grows tasty lamb. Maybe Costco will give it a try. - SWMOExplorerLamb isn't readily available here and what is is very expensive compared to other red meat.

We recently discovered lamb because my Atkins Diet Cookbook had a recipe for Lamb Roast in a slow cooker. Its so good we have it about twice a month now. Sometimes we get a roast at Von's, sometimes Costco. In addition we get lamb shanks at Sprouts.
Oh, by the way, the term Australian Lamb refers to the breed of lamb, raised in the USA, not that its imported, which would be hugely expensive.
Got recipe? - coolbreeze01ExplorerI was hoping someone could recommend the imported lamb Costco sells. It looks good in the case, but never sure about taste. We have been enjoying Calif. grown lamb chops from Winco. Will give Costco's a try.

The taste is not as gamey there. Coat the roast in panko, salt, pepper and tarragon and bake to preferred state of doneness.
Here's another good recipe
