We are work camping at a KOA. It is our first time, site with pay. We have usually stuck to gate guards or hosts. This is new to us. We have met several other work camper couples , nine in all and have learned about the state, national and COE park application and bidding process. We work in Texas in the winter and this might be our last summer traveling north in the summer. We are looking at Maine or Washington State or Oregon next summer (God willing). Now for the negative, we work camped in Texas for 5 years at gate guards, the owner decided it would be cheaper if he hired outside help instead of using work campers. Our job took about 240.00 off the site rent. We did get another job in housekeeping for the 13/14 season. Has anyone ever worked at a KOA and if so could you post some of your positive and negative remarks without mentioning names or state? we are very interested in your opinion. We have been fulltime for 7 years and have work camped 6 years now. Living in a MOntana fifth wheel. Loving the open road.
