Where do you find Telephone Land Lines ?

I have had a pacemaker for a number of years and I don't worry too much about sending in my readings as often as I should as I have a problem finding a land line. My husband has just had a Loop Recorder installed and will need to send his readings once a month.

For those of you that have a Pacemaker or a Loop Recorder, where do you find Land Lines to transmit your readings.

Thanks a million

We wondered whether Welcome Centers Chamber of Commerce etc might have one for general use.

  • Thanks everyone - I used to use the parks office phone, but more and more of them are no longer land lines. I will call the company and ask about the cell adapter

There are several options.. Check with the loop recorder maker, There is a good chance there is a USB option and you can send the readings via the internet.

I used to have a cell phone with a "land line" adapter on it (Turned it into a land line) and there are some internet phone (VoIP) products that give you a "psuedo land line" I do not know how well they work with data but odds are the modem in that puppy is a slow modem and will work quite well with them.

But check with the loop recorder maker.

If you have a penny-whistle type adapter (You place the phone handset in it) you may be able to "Borrow" the camp's phone.. Some campgrounds do offer that.. There is USUALLY a phone somewhere near the pool. (Actually, many states require that).

But contact they who made the recorder to find out what your options are for "other than land line".
  • call the company. They fixed my wife up with a cell adapter.

There was s fee though, but ya gotta get the reports in.
  • I would think you could stop at a local hospital or clinic

    What Tucson Jim said.

My wife has a heart monitor for 3 weeks and it uses cell tower like a cell phone, it does some things automatic and she sends some info her self by pushing a few buttons.
See if they have a more up to date equipment, good luck with getting things setup so you can travel.
