Where do you hide your money?

When we went to Alaska (and not knowing how much actual cash we needed) - I hid some money by removing a drawer in the bedroom, and then taping a ziplock bag to the front of the cabinet below the drawer. In other words, if a thief pulled out the drawer, they would not see it.

Another safe spot might be in a box of feminine products ;-) Tape a $100 bill inside a roll of TP. Or there are countless "can safes" - tins that look like soup, but the bottom can be opened.

Normally, Ed and I just split the cash-carrying duties between us. As others have said, given how fast an RV can burn, we figure our money was safer with us.

That's the plan put it in the black hole and retrieve it when emptying it, just be sure to unhook the slinky to catch it as it goes by or it's bye bye. :B

We only carry about 200.00 split between us. Most of our spending is on plastic. We do have a one ounce Kruggerand stashed in case of the Zombie Apocalypse. I figure if the machines go down I can always find a pawn shop.

Don't park your rig in an empty field where nobody can see it. Thieves hate witnesses. But if you have no better choices:
Seal your valuables in a baggie, then put the baggie and a rock in a plastic quart storage container (I use Ziploc), and drop the container in the toilet tank. Not the bowl (Yuk). Finally, turn a radio on. Thieves can't be sure there isn't somebody still inside and they could be armed.

This was my first thought when I read the subject. :h

If I carried a lot of cash and had to hide it, a camper always has a lot of nooks and crannies, but I'd probably forget where I put it. Good idea to designate a spot if I needed it though.
