- gboppExplorerWe have a small yard. I eliminated half the grass and replaced it with gravel.
The Southwind is parked on the gravel when not in use. And, it is plugged into shore power 24/7 when not in use.
My goal is to eliminate all the grass. I've done enough grass cutting in my life. I have better things to do with my time. :) - BubbaChrisExplorerWe're still working things out, having just completed our Rookie year.
This winter it stayed 25 miles away at a friend's home because he has livestock and it was no big deal to park on the dirt next to a horse trailer. But I'd like something with more weather protection.
The two "covered" options in town have strange quirks. The more popular one is full-up on the covered spaces and an "impossible to get answers on" policy for how they offer up vacated spaces. The other one is up a tricky hill and although they "advertise" water and electric being part of their offerings, the actual contract says you can't (and their virtually mandatory add-on insurance rubs me the wrong way).
Ideal would be buying a triangular piece of city-owned property directly behind my lot and build at least a shade structure on it. But until then my in-season plans are to mostly keep it in the driveway. - bsinmichExplorerBoth of mine are stored in a barn with a concrete floor. The Newmar has been stored there since it was 2 YO when I bought it in 2005. My '95 Roadtrek was always indoors prior to my purchase also. There is only problem to indoor storage. The solar panels on the roof are useless I the dark.
- Heap64Explorer$50 a month inside about 5 miles from our home. I can't beat it.

- obgrahamExplorerI bought the current house specifically because they allowed backyard "shops". Mine's 28 by 42.
So the RV lives in there, 20 feet from my back door. Full electric. Should have put in sewer access, but didn't. - mlts22Explorer IIStorage is the main reason why I'm trading in my TT for a small class "C" motorhome. Here in Austin, a trailer cannot be visible from the road, where it has to be parked in an area where it is completely fenced in.
Storage lots in Austin are usually full, and the last one I checked had a year waiting list... and was asking $250/month. There is also the fact that those places are a bonanza for the local tweakers because here in Texas, burglary of a vehicle is a misdemeanor... so unless the perp is caught red-handed by police, they are almost always going to get away with it.
I have a great place to store my trailer (many miles from an interstate, and miles from a paved road...) but it makes for a long detour to fetch the TT and bring it back.
Since storage is such an issue, I'm throwing in the towel, and going for a motorhome that can fit in a driveway. This way, it is a few steps from the front door to the RV, rather than a long excursion. - GaryWTExplorerWe extended our driveway with crushed rock and park it there. Nice, clean and neat.

In the backyard at our home. However, we have a huge yard as it is 3 acres. We just took off camper last week to let the truck rest for several weeks. :B - Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerWe keep out TT at a local RV Park/Storage area with controlled access to the park and locked storage area. Nice that it is so close we can bring it home and park in front of the house to load up for trips.
