I dont see any reason why you shouldn't take your dog. Sounds as though you are responsible and pack out what you bring in, sounds as though you camp with your dog, I have been through there and have camped with folks that bring there dogs/animals,, Had a lady with a Parrot in here motor home,, brought it out in its cage during the day,,,It behaved didnt cuss didnt scream!!
My dog is well trained and well behaved and deserves to be with me. He goes where I go.
I have listened to comments from people that dont have the common courtesy to say something to me THE DOG HANDLER,( I am not his owner) he is not owned he is my work partner!!
What ever,, He has every right to be with me he has worked for that!! If you cant control your animal you and that animal do not belong in controlled areas!!
I have camped in strict control areas that some people should be asked to leave!! Let alone allow them to bring an animal!!
When I say bend the rules I mean BEND the rules,, If you and your animal behave you can go into areas that post no DOGS!! I have and will continue to do so!!
When approached by security or rangers or hosts I explain that he is a "Service" dog and show his credentials. He does not miss behave and stays with me and I have always been given free run.. Remember there are times when it is better to ask for forgiveness rather then beg for permission!!
If your dog is truly well behaved you still may receive a citation,, take it and show up with your dog, I have and have had the citation removed!!
Again, my dog is 160 pounds of Black dog!! You will see him but he behaves as he should and we all get along!!!
Research "Service animals" They are given allot of variances on restrictions,, Also, Investigation, detection and enforcement animals can be certified as "Service" Animals!! They are highly trained,, Handler and animal!!
If your dog is a registered service dog wearing it's uniform, you would not be bending any rules as it appears you are by your own admission. Kind of sad for those that have a real need for a service dog that had to fight for many years to earn the right to have their service dog with them. But like they say "there is one in every crowd"!
