Hopefully, the dart doesn't miss the hung map entirely or it might be a real wild trip!!! - bukhrnExplorer III

Well you mention a couple that you want to see, I'm sure there are more, like Zion, Bryce, Arches, Glacier, Mt Rainier, pick a couple, plot it out on a map and GO.Trekkar wrote:

Natchez & Vicksburg; Washington, DC; Branson;;Yellowstone & Grand Tetons(3 times); Mt Rushmore ares; Nashville, South Padre, Las Vegas (flew there) are the biggest trips we’ve done. Other shorter trips to more local areas have been done. Don’t like desert areas but do want to see Grand Canyn and Carllsbad Caverns, which is out for us until elevators are repaired. - Mountain_MamaExplorer

- JAXFLExplorerIt's your house on wheels...... Go wherever you want.
- DutchmenSportExplorerWe enjoy specific scenario camping rather than willie-nillie type camping. It may be geographical, historical, or some other interest. For my best example, we did this a few years ago:
In addition to the travel trailer, I also enjoy model railroading. So one year we decided to take our entire vacation time searching out railroad museums. Since we live in Indiana, a little research turned out there were 7 railroad museums in Indiana. So we plotted out our best course so we could hit all 6 of them. (The one in Noblesville, Indiana at Forest Park is right at home, and we see it all the time, so left this one out of the trip).
We spent a few days in Southern Indiana at one State Park, West Central at another State Park, and North Central at the 3rd State Park. Using each campsite as a base location, we visited the museums, rod the trains, and did sight seeing everything rail road related ... including the old non-working rail road turn table in Frankfort, Indiana (which is not a museum, but literally, a falling down building.) Still enough enchantment there, I took a gazillion photos.
Another time we plan out campsites so we could use our canoe. Another time we hunted down green houses. Our trip to Kentucky last Summer was mostly about historical sites.
If you consider a "themed" approach, something that interests you.... say high school base ball diamonds, or the craziest bowling alleys, or city-county-regional festivals, or even a gauntlet of yard sales, you can have quite an experience.
Of course, we also pick some campsites and campgrounds where we just want to vegetate and do absolutely nothing too! And actually, the older we get, the more attractive those get!
The sky is the limit! Figure out what floats-your-boat and search it out. Um... maybe a manufacturing plant tour that builds boats? - kerrlakeRooExplorerThis time of the year, you may want to head for the gulf coast and then cruise up the eastern seaboard. You would be entering the areas the Snowbirds had just vacated, Campgrounds and parks are near empty, and the weather is great now.

"Honey, we're taking the RV to a point about a hundred fifty miles due east of Savannah, Georgia this year!" - mat60ExplorerI don't see wife and I being in able to get away more than two days this year but I think it would be fun not have hardly any plan at all. Like said just decided how far you want to travel and the first campground you want to stay at. Then all you need is a phone and info on where the campgrounds are at and you can do what ever you want. Now I have never done this but it sounds like fun and the worse thing would be a night in a parking lot and even that doesn't sound that bad to me.
