Sitting on the deck looking out at the lake while the TV is tuned to the golf. Don't do holiday camping anymore, kids grown and gone. Next trip is August to the Outer Banks and then leave for Florida in the middle of October.
Hey, need advise, want to try OB this fall had planned on Myrtle B. where is best place to stay see lots of bad reviews on some campgrounds. Have pets and have friends who need 50 amp going with us. - mboppExplorerSpent a week in Acadia, then a week in Cape Cod. Came home on the 4th.
- buckyExplorer III feel sorry for the folks here over in the Ocean City MD area campgrounds. Castaways, Frontier Town, etc. It's a trip of a lifetime (Assateague) for many, but rain rain rain.
- BulldawgFanExplorerFunny, I posted a similar question on Memorial Day and the majority of responses are how "I would never camp on a holiday". The question was where are you camping...not ARE you camping amd if not, WHY? We didnt open a where are you camping thread to find out why you arent.
With that, my family is PROUDLY camping at Stone Mountain Park, GA this weekend. Came in Friday, heading out tomorrow. It all about managing timing, amd where you are when. We come here for all the majors (Memorial, 4th, Labor) so we know when to be where. Want to enjoy the park activities...go in at 10 and be clear by 3. Pool? 10 am - 2 pm. Laser show, forget that crowd, we have a spot we can access via golf cart we can watch the the show and fireworks in the comfort of the cart without a soul around.
We enjoy a full campground, fun to see everyone's setups. Just have to know how to mamage it.
Thanks to the OP for posting this question, and thanks to those who actually answered the question.
Enjoy your camping, be safe and a very Happy 4th. God Bless America. - Sillybugs2ExplorerHome. DH works all weekend. :(
- leggyExplorerJellystone Hagerstown Md. Just came in today, park is packed but we have a great spot. DW has check up on the 5th at johns Hopkins is main reason why we are here. Traffic on 81 wasn't bad and since we paid in full in Feb when I made reservations the cost isn't making me cry....$140 a night!
- JWRobertsExplorerWe have family visiting from our-of-state so we'll be staying here. Just returned from a two-month trip through the mid-west. Will go out again in a couple of weeks.
- dave54NomadCocooning at home.
Just got back Friday from 2 weeks in the Sierras. Heading out Wednesday for three weeks in Colorado.
