Which generator?

I've had my ac running for many days at an rv park no problem, the only time I tried running it from my buddy's place (with a 50 ft extension cord) it ran for a few minutes then tripped the 20 amp breaker in the house and the one in the camper too at the same time. I think next time it only tripped the house breaker. I did not have my meter to verify current draw, and still don't, but we'll be in texas next week and I'm going to need a generator

I was looking at the yamaha 2400 but it's only 2000 watts? I figured 2400 would have been enough, I didn't want to step up to a 3000 if i could avoid it- at that price would 2x 2000 watt Honda parallel be better?

Any reviews of the briggs & stratton power smart? The price is right but for longetivity I have no idea

  • I have heard on a warm day, when the compressor stops, and it takes more amperage to restart it, that a Honda 3000 is not up to the task.

A pair of Honda 2000's are used by many who are Rv.Net members. Without complaints. Heck if you where my neighbor, I would not complain either, they are very quiet!

Mayberrys.com is one place that sells them pretty cheap. They also sell a kit to link two together with a RV style plug, not the normal twistlock type.

Two easy to carry 47 pound generators, that are very quiet! Just what I would want too!

    Good luck,

    Fred.
