- beemerphile1ExplorerI don't like having anything that can become a missile in an accident. I used double sided tape to stick the round plastic disc on the dash. The GPS suction cup sticks on that disc. If it didn't come with the disc you can buy them.
- TOMMY47ExplorerMade my own holder using the equipment that came with gps, wood and Velcro.
Attached below dash board so as not to block view. Too dangerous to have a big screen gps on dash. - filthy_beastExplorerI had a suction cup type mount that would stick to the textured dash with out needing a stick on disc of bean bag type mount. Look at some of the aftermarket type places.
- Dick_BExplorerWe screwed our GPS to a piece of wood approx 4 x 6 inches which rests on our relatively flat dash but we tie it to a vent opening with a wire just in case.
- donn0128Explorer IIThose bean bag holders are junk. I use an old fashioned window suction cup. I understand that is against the law in CA, but since i dont live there I dont care!
- fj12ryderExplorer IIII have the beanbag holder and it works great. Our dash is fairly flat and the GPS is only a 5" screen so that may be part of it. This is the model I use: Ebay listing .
I didn't get mine from Ebay, but you get the idea. - BumpyroadExplorer

yep, the suction cup ones are "junk" IMHO. do not get the one with a spring loaded alligator ? holder. got one and returned it. I like the standard Garmin one.
bumpy - coolbreeze01ExplorerI use a Garmin Air Vent Mount
- ShearwaterExplorerWe have the bean bag that Garmin sells - works like a charm. We're not concerned about where it will go in a crash - most likely forward, away from the people. I would never trust something attached to the windshield by a suction cup - sooner or later it will fail.
