The EQ like most WDHs can be failry easy to hook up using the following procedure:
Lower tongue onto ball just enough to latch
Latch tongue on ball
Raise tongue/lower jack
Install WD bars
Lower tongue/raise jack
That procedure is greatly assisted with an electric tongue jack.

And I will add, Any bolts associated with the Equal-i-zer hitch do
not work loose when properly torqued to the manufacturers specifications.
I have been happy with my Equal-i-zer hitch going on 9 years. I have had not any experience with a Reese Dual Cam, but I hear owners are well satisfied with them too.
