Which LED tail light is best, 10, 12 or 36 Diode?

Question

Going to replace the 4" round tail lights on my tow dolly with LED's and wondering which work best?

I have found 10 diode, 12 diode and 36 diode LED's which will work. Is it the more diodes the better?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Not just the number of diodes but how bright each diode is.  10 diodes each producing 200 lumens (2,000 lumens total) will be brighter than a 36 diode unit, each producing 20 lumens (720 lumen total).  So, look at the per-diode-brightness (lumens) as you think about your options.
