Which tire?

I have a Cedar Creek 34 foot RV. I have bubble on two tires that only have 2000 miles on them. The tires are trail express ST 235/80 R 16 load range E. I would like some advice on which tires to buy. Even if they warranty these I don't want them on my RV.

Thank you
Bob
  • I had a trailer that size and was very happy with BF Goodrich Commercial TA's. Michelin XP Ribs is another popular one. The LT tires come in 235/85 16 but they are the same height as the 235/80 16 so they will interchange.
  • What jimnlin said above! No currently marketed ST tire will stand up to that size trailer for what most consider good trouble free service life. Chris
  • I see in another thread you have a 35' Cedar Creek so I'm guessing the trailer has 7k axle which fit your 16" ST E tires 3500 lb capacity. I wouldn't put a ST tire back on a trailer that size.

I would upgrade with the Goodyear LT235/85-16 G614 G load range at 3750 lbs capacity .....
...or the Sailun LT235/85-16 G at 3750 lbs. The Sailuns have became very popular with heavy trailer owners of all types.

Many folks with heavy 14k-15k GVWR trailers upgrade to 17.5" wheels and commercial grade LT f or G tires. All depending room in your trailer wheel well.
