I have a backflow preventer fitting at the connection for my flusher hose that I have added for extra protection. I also only use the flusher after I have dumped the tank. Been doing this for years, I'm still here. Cough, cough, wheez..Besides, if you use a separate hose it's still connected to the same water hydrant as your drinking water hose, so what difference will it make?
