White hose
I’m wondering if I need to always use a white hose for the travel trailer if we don’t drink the water.

Use any hose you like that is rated for drinking water. Many of the “RV” hoses are cheap and don’t last very long, have terrible connections, and are horrible to deal with in cold weather. I’m still using a fabric hose I’ve had for ten years and works great in all weather conditions.
