Our Silverado displays " Trailer Connected" on the message display area in the dash when starting the truck..

As well we do a chck of the lights when leaving and area.

As well I normally turn the truck headlights on when towing and can see the trailer clearance lights.

Plus-----my partners seems to always ask about these every time we move.
