Who's camping this weekend?

We're heading out tomorrow for Rifle River State Recreation in Midland for 4 nights. Suppose to be on the cool side - high of 55/60 tomorrow. Got the sweats/sweatshirts all packed up. On the menu is BLTs, Hot Dogs, Chicken - probably fried and Pizza Casserole. I think we'll get in one last camping trip next month.

  • As soon as the kids get off the bus we are headed up to Grand Haven state park for a weekend with friends. It is the last weekend for the musical light fountain for the year so I suspect we will end up over there both nights and maybe hit up the salmon and wine festival.
  • Will be heading out in the morning to Silver Lake Sand Dunes here in Michigan. Probably will leave the trailer there for a week.
  • We're leaving Saturday for two weeks in the redwoods and the Northern California coast.
  • Got to Holland State Park at 8, set up including satellite by 9 and walk in the sand and moonlight along the channel by 9:30. Now sitting by open window with a cool breeze off the lake and 66 degrees. Great start to a 3 day weekend for me. Randu

Congratulations on the new Montana. Please let us know how it works out for you.
  • Not to hurt anyone's feelings, but I camp somewhere everyday. Waited a long time for this incredible opportunity.:) Travel safe.
  • A week from this Friday we are heading to Matthison State Park area by Utica for a wine festival, that's on Saturday. Heading back Sunday then hopefully 2 more next months, unfortunately for me the last one ill be winterizing.
  • We're up in Saulte Ste Marie at Aune Osborn campground. We arrived last Monday. The trip up was beautiful but it started raining about 10 miles befor we arrived. Since it was raining, I didn't mess with getting the 5er level side to side. BIG mistake. We've had the worst rain that we have ever camped in. Half the roads on Sugar Island, a mile east of here, are washed out. The slider on the uphill side of the 5er, leaked like a sieve. Luckily it happened while we were still awake, so we brought the slider in quickly. Leveled the trailer the next morning and all is well. Now, we have high winds that are blowing all the small boats off of the river (no fishing). Temps are supposed to drop down to the mid 30s tonight.
Forgot to mention, this is the maiden voyage for our new 32' Montana. A bad week RVing still beats a good week working. The casino was good to me two days in a row. :)
  • Picking up son and his friend from school tomorrow at 12:30 and heading to Coleman Lake Campground in the Talladega National Forest for a couple of days. Another mancation as wife has to work and daughter could care less about going. Weather in the lower 60 at night and 80's in afternoon. Typical camp food dogs and burgers, bacon and eggs, marshmellows etc. Should be a great weekend.
