I have an Infrared and use it. I am not confident that I can feel a 10 to 15 degree difference. Especially after walking to the other side of the trailer. And while a 15 deg difference may not be enough to worry about, it CAN indicate a possible upcoming problem. So I tend to rely on the Infrared. It is accurate. And useful for lots of different stuff too.
For the $30 I spent, it is well worth it, to me.
