Drive it with out the equalizer hooked up. With that light of tongue weight, any weight the equalizer transfers will be too much. If you have 500# tongue weight and use bars to transfer 500#, you will have 0 tongue weight.
If he has 500# tongue weight and has the Equal-I-zer properly adjusted, approximately 125# will be transferred to the trailer axles, leaving approximately 375# to be carried by the TV.
A WDH does not change the value of the tongue weight. It just changes how much of the tongue weight is carried by the TV and how much is carried by the trailer axles.
