I think it all depends on what you are looking for. First of all, CW is not an exclusive online retailer. They are a sticks and bricks operation. It is often cheaper and easier for someone like me, who lives about 7 or 8 miles from a CW to go and buy the item. Additionally as a GS club member, I receive a lower price as a member and I have access to over $800 in coupons with them. I also get free shipping on items if I choose to go that way if it's over a certain price. I do think freight items are not included in that.
I've bought things at CW that were cheaper for me than I could it online at other places. Amazon, is not always free shipping either. I've come across items on there that did not offer free shipping or free shipping with prime membership ($79/year membership fee).
I see you are from canada. It had been discussed before about the shipping cost to canada. Cw's cost to ship to Canada is supposedly higher. Not sure of the specifics, but that was from cw's mouth. Go to the Dear Marcus section and ask the question there about it. And whenever I am at myrtle beach, I see manat Canadians at the CW stores buying thousands of dollars worth of stuff. So they must not of caught on to the other places online are cheaper for them.
And it does pay sometimes to shop around. If by all means spending hours searching around to save a couple dollars is worth it to you, then by all means.
