Whidbey Island Dave: We stopped at Dosewallips last fall. Great campground with splendid fall color. We stayed in the no hookup section in amongst the big leaf maples.
What we love about camping is that it enables us to travel and explore this great country of ours. We rockhound, photograph, and explore areas of historical and geological interest. It is convenient to camp so close to where we plan to rockhound and photograph. We camped on the shore of the dry lake bed at Black Rock Desert and saw the most amazing sunset, watched an elk cross the playa and viewed the stars so close you could touch them.
We don't hang out at big RV parks; mostly USFS, BLM, a few state campgrounds or boondocking. They don't sound like much fun to us. We have stayed at some state parks in the West where people sat around drinking martinis then went in and watched TV. To each their own.
No gripes here.
