Where we are workcamping here in New Mexico we never put the awning out. Not uncommon at all to have instant 60 mph or more winds and hugh dust devils. We had a large dust devil here one day that moved one of the campers trailer 4 or 5 feet forward and bent the leveling jacks. Funny thing was though it missed the tent just behind the trailer.
