Why would a prospective employer want to remain hidden?

When any business does something like that, it's because they have a bad reputation. If they fully disclosed who they were, they'd never get any applications for employment. If that's their approach, you're probably better off passing that "opportunity" by. Would you buy a new automobile having never seen it, not knowing what brand it was? Same thing with a job! Run!
