I am a bit paranoid about water quality and when we canoe camped pulled water from rivers and streams and ran it through a General Ecology First Need filter system. I now run a CX90 Ceramic Water Filter filters down to 0.9 microns to provides protection against foul tastes, odors, sediments and chlorine. It features a KDF carbon core which helps protect against bacteria. This filter is renewable and can be cleaned with an abrasive pad. When really concerned I use a General Ecology Travel Pure which takes it to NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) status.
