OP, thanks for bringing it up. Changing filters is on my list before we head out in the fall. I have a string looking type and a carbon. The whole topic of water filtration and what lawrosa has said is making me look at it all a little more closely. I like the idea of RO as we are getting water from all over the country from wells and city.
Lawrosa, I looked at the link briefly but didn't notice the power requirements. Do you have the uv option?
If you drink the water or not it may be good to at least filter for sediment like sand so it doesn't hang up in the toilet valve and cause it to weep water into the bowl.
