My post about wondering why you filter your toilet, bath, and dish washing water wasn't an insult or stirring up cr*p, but an honest question. I still feel if you don't drink it why would you spend the money to filter it. We carry 5 gallons of distilled and rarely drink the park water.
Filter sediment out and chlorine from your RV and home at a minimum... Protect from sediment in water heater and large particles to clog your fixtures..
Chlorine filtration because chlorine is the #1 cause of bladder cancer in the US IMO..
Even if you dont drink it, its absorbed through your skin and inhaled from steam or vapor... ( Your skin is like a sponge)
Carbon block is good for both..
The OP can use a carbon block to take care of above...
Now drinking water is another story..
You need to install / use what you feel is right for your own individual protection from contaminants.. I chose RO... Bottled water when RO is not available or feasible...
Plain and simple..
Im a plumber 30 plus years..
The OP is correct. His RV came with a filter... great.. Use it... IMO intall carbon block in place of pleated filter...
Then decide about drinking it..
Again I state I will not drink city water, let alone water from the rv holding system.. I dont care how much one sanitizes it...
Just all my opinion though..
Lets not talk about fluoride added to water.. It does not prevent cavity's....!
