On only a couple occasions have we EVER left our dogs in the camper. When we do, we call each other on our cell phones and get a channel open. Then we leave one phone in the camper and take the other with us.
This way, we can really hear how distressed the dogs get and how much they really bark.
We discovered they don't bark (much), but occasionally. And we discovered they are pretty calm when we are gone.
We've only done this twice, in maybe 20 years of camping. But if we ever have to leave them alone in the camper again, this is what we'll do ... again.
If something were to happen and we needed the phone with us to make a call, the open line to the trailer can either go on hold, or it can be hung up from the one with us, freeing up to make a call if needed.
