Maybe, I am just non observant, but I don't remember seeing a lot of posted signs dealing with campground rules. Most of the campgrounds that I go to hand me a sheet of paper with rules on it.
Are there a lot of rules in campgrounds? Yea. Are they for the most part onerous? No. Typical common sense stuff - don't shoot or stab your neighbors, don't let your dog bite the little kids, don't throw your trash out of the windows of your RV. Don't drag race on the campground roads, etc. Campgrounds are little cites where there is a lot of interactions with others. Without some law and order, things can get out of hand pretty quick.
Let's face it. There isn't a lot of stuff that they need to tell you about staying in a hotel room. What? Don't tear the wallpaper off the wall? Don't steal the copper plumbing? Don't build a campfire on the balcony? Not a lot of rules needed for a stay in in a 15x 20 foot box.
