My theory is that since campers bring along their "home," they bring along home-like behavior.. Slobs remain slobs...considerate people to their neighbors at home bring that attitude. Hotel rooms are a little more intimidating. But both have plenty of rules. I worked for a hotel once and you see it all.
Last weekend, we were in a NFS campground and a previous camper apparently had dumped a large pan full of bacon grease and who knows what else into the fire pit and left the mess. Rancid, drew a LOT of flies to our site. Bet they never clean the oven and fridge at home.
I've found the hospitality to be about the same in both hotels and RV places, though probably more friendly and personal on the RV side.
