It is lawful to record public officials in the course of conducting their business in public.
People need to check the laws in your state before taking ken's 'legal advice'. Several states do not have 1 party consent. In those situations you could be committing a felony by surreptitiously recording another. It doesn't matter public official or anyone else.
The inside of my moho or trailer is not public and will require a warrant to search.
Actually no. When you're on the road your RV, moho, trailer, etal, are vehicles. A search warrant is not always required for vehicles.
Research and understand your rights.
That's a very good idea. You can start by reading the USSC decision known as the Carroll v US before start giving legal advice. Carroll addresses your mistaken assertion that vehicles require a search warrant. Surely you must have heard about Carroll since you 'know your rights'. It's an old case which is still recognized by the USSC.
People who learn 'their rights' from watching too much TV and talking to their beer drinking buddies know nothing about their rights.
