Windshield getting dinged

I made a vinyl cover just like bumpy did. Ptoblem when it rained there was enough space next to the cover water would get into the jeep. Tried a commercial cover that hooked into the wheel wells. Wheel wells were too thick to allow them to fastrn securily so sent it bsck for a refund. Also need to be careful, if you find some ting that works make sure it doesn't rub paint off somewhere which can be another problem. I finally gave up and just tow the toad. Lastly I know people who say the wide rock guard causes the pits and take the guard off and no more damage. I am thinking about to trying this solution.
