Some transmissions have a provision for a PTO shaft. Maybe it would be possible to hook up an electric motor to the shaft and add power to the drive train through it.
A robust generator (10k watts?) and a substantial lithium battery pack could provide a possible source of additional power as needed.
I would be interested to see if that was possible.
I don’t know. I think it would be simpler just to add a 20 Kw diesel in a hush box for a back up method of charging and leave the whole drive train electric. Do most of your charging at DCFC or for those who stay a couple days or longer just charge in the camp site. Meter the pedestal.
