winter dry camping - hygiene?

having 2 weeks off coming up, so I'd like to get out and do some camping, as we haven't had any snow at all this December.

I'm wondering about hygiene though... all the dumps are closed, so I can't use my trailers shower / sewer system. and I've winterized, all the drains are open, red juice in all the traps, etc.

how do folks stay clean dry camping in the winter? it's not like I can safely go for a swim with a bar of soap...

I'm probably just headed into the National Forest, but even if I went to a state park, the facilities are literally boarded up this time of year.
  • "un-winterize" and use all the stuff I got. Then when I get home I use a Flojet macerator to empty all the tanks.

I do this half a dozen times at least every winter for camping.
  • As mockturtle has said...personal wipes. And a large jug of water from the store for coffee and tooth brushing washing of the odd thing.

  • Gordon,

Assuming your trailer has an insulated "basement", why not just un-winterize, turn up the heat, and use all systems as usual? Surly, you can find a dump station back in town (gas station, RV store, or even into your own septic system/sewer cleanout at home).
If you don't think this will work for your rig, then bring along a few 5 gallon containers of water (good quality containers), heat water on the stove and take sponge baths.

    Have fun,
    Steve
