Wireless Back Up Camera on Trailer

Just got a Garmin 760LMT along with a BC-20 backup camera. DW seems to think I need a backup camera although she never drives the truck or backs up the TT. I think it's going to be a waste of time and money.
I don't know about other backup cameras, but the wireless transmitter is too far away and you need to buy their 30' long extension cable to mount the transmitter in the front of the trailer somewhere. I don't like the fact that there is no way or place to mount the camera without drilling into the exterior fiberglass wall. Then you need to run the cable somehow from the back to the front which I can do, but it's many hours of work. The cable and connectors are not outdoor/weatherproof rated. Then you have to get 12 volts to the wireless transmitter. Not sure if that should be via the TV's backup light power?
And if you manage to get the camera and wiring all installed, I have read of many reports of the image being washed out in the daylight and you can't see much, if anything. I am going to a temporary test setup before installing anything. Maybe some other brands of camera images are better than others? Not sure if dirt will accumulate on the lens also obscuring the image and if it needs periodic cleaning, you'll need a stepladder to get to it.
